The Kishwaukee College office at the Illinois workNet Center provides:

  • college information and referral
  • financial aid forms
  • basic computer literacy classes
  • resume preparation assistance
  • Kishwaukee College services and information
  • GED and ESL class information
  • job search assistance through individual and group activities
  • referrals for financial assistance for training through the Workforce Investment Act
  • career resource center with computer access for job search purposes

Basic Computer Literacy Classes are for anyone who has minimal computer experience and who needs computer skills in order to improve their career options, be a more effective employee, or seek employment more effectively. The focus is on mouse usage, accessing programs, the Internet, and email, as well as basic usage of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. In addition, the Computer Literacy for the GED test class will provide information on what to expect and how to navigate through this computer-based test.

Kishwaukee College works closely with other Illinois workNet Center partners including First Institute Training and Management, Experience Works, The Local Workforce Investment Area Boards, and campus Career Center.
