KC Alum headed to Uganda with Rotary

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

Kishwaukee College Nursing Program alumnus Krystal Forsythe will be traveling to Uganda from February 7 - 23 as a member of a contingent of seven area healthcare professionals and educators sponsored by Rotary International through the Rotary District 6420 (covers the northwest corner of Illinois) and coordinated with the Rotary Club of Gaba in Uganda. The Rotary humanitarian trip to Uganda will focus in keeping young women and girls in school and teaching them useable skills, as well as creating a health care lending library. Krystal knew that the Kishwaukee College Nursing Program sometimes had retired textbooks available and contacted Bette Chilton, Dean of Health &Education at the College who collected books for Krystal to take to Uganda for use by the people there. Krystal is a 2010 Kishwaukee College graduate and currently works at Bethany Health Care as the Wound Care Nurse.
