Post-Employment Benefits

At Kishwaukee College eligible employees may be entitled to several post-employment benefits.  Use this section to learn more about your benefits.

Retirees staying on the College’s Health and Dental plan

  • Open Enrollment. Stay connected during open enrollment if you elected Kishwaukee College's retirement insurance plan - usually mid-October to November each year. Make sure HR has your email address and an updated physical address to contact you.
*Please note that as a retiree on the State University Retirement System, (SURS), you will always receive open enrollment documentation on or about October of each year from SURS. You may transition to the SURS benefit, however you cannot rejoin the College’s health plan.  The College will continue to pay for the CAP amount of insurance for the duration of your contracted terms if you choose to transition from the College’s Plan to the SURS State Insurance plan.

  • Making Premium Payments. Some retirees may have to make an individual and/or dependent premium payment to continue their benefits.

    • For information about the benefits and premium amounts, please contact Human Resources at 815-825-9370 or kishhr@kishwaukeecollege.edu

    • For information on remitting premium payments, please contact BPC. Inc. at 800-355-2350. Payment booklets are typically mailed to your address on file in late December-Early January.

  • Medicare Eligibility. When you become Medicare Eligible, your premium payments may change. Please contact Human Resources when this occurs at 815-825-9370 or kishhr@kishwaukeecollege.edu

  • Prescription Drug Program While On Medicare. You may retain the College’s health insurance prescription drug program in lieu of Medicare Part D. The College does have a Credible Program and mails employees annually through the Credible Coverage Statement.
