Timetable of Election Deadlines

September 20, 2016
First day to circulate nomination papers. Must be original sheets signed by voters and circulators.
December 12, 2016
First day for filing in office of the local election official. Original nominating petitions must contain original sheets signed by voters and circulators.
December 19, 2016 - 5pm
Last day for filing in office of the local election official original nomination petitions. A minimum of 50 signatures are required. The Statement of Economic Interest must be filed on or before this date with the DeKalb County Clerk's office and the receipt must be filed on or before this date with the local election official who received the nomination papers.
December 21, 2016 - at 9:00am
Lottery (if needed) for any individuals simultaneously turning in their petitions at the administrative office (C-2170) at 8:00 am or in the first mail delivery of the day. (Candidate need not be present at the lottery)
December 28, 2016 - at 9:00 am
Lottery (if needed) for any individuals simultaneously turning in their petitions at the administrative office (C-2170) at 5:00 pm or in the last hour of the day. (Candidate need not be present at the lottery)
January 3, 2015 - 5 pm
Last day for filing objections to nominating petitions of candidates in the office of the local election official or designee.

Number of Open Positions

Three trustees are to be elected to fill the six year terms of current trustees Robert Hammon, Robert Johnson and Linda Mason

Filing Period

Petitions for the office of Kishwaukee College Trustee are to be filed between December 12 and December 19, 2016 in the President's Office (C-2170). The office is open from the hours of 8:00 am until 4:00 pm on December 12, 2016 - December 16, 2016 and on December 19, 2016 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm at which time the following documents must be on file:

  • Statement of Candidacy
  • Nominating Petition Sheets totaling 50 or more signatures and property notarized
  • Receipt for filing a Statement of Economic Interest with the DeKalb County Clerk specifically for the office of Kishwaukee College Trustee.
