Adult Transitions

The Adult Transitions Department specializes in assisting students who are new to college or returning to college after a long absence.  Adult college students who are single parents, pursuing nontraditional careers, or adult learners, including students in GED preparation programs or English as a Second Language programs.

The Adult Transitions Department‘s goal is to make each student’s transition into college as smooth as possible with services and support including applying for college, career and course planning, registering for classes, applying for financial aid, and exploring support services on campus.  Professional staff can also provide referrals to community agencies that can offer a variety of supports, such as subsidized childcare, food assistance, and mental health counseling.

Adult Student Connections offers support for income eligible students pursuing career and vocational certificates and degrees.

The Textbook Loan Program at Kishwaukee College can assist eligible students with textbooks each semester. Books are loaned on a first come, first served basis.
