Personal Fitness Trainer Certification

Program Information

Whether a career move or for your own personal knowledge, get all the information you need to become a World Instructor Training Schools (WITS) Certified Personal Trainer. This challenging class is taught over a five-week period and is designed to help prepare students to work successfully in the fitness field. Lecture topics include: anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, and health screening. In addition to lecture, the class includes fifteen hours of "hands-on" practical training which helps prepare students to work with clients one-on-one. The WITS national exam is administered in the sixth week. Upon successful completion of the class and written exam, a list of approved internship sites will be provided by WITS. Once the student provides proof of completing the required 30-hour internship and CPR certification, they will receive a Personal Fitness Trainer Certificate from WITS. Attendance is mandatory to receive the certificate. Cost includes $94 for the required textbook.
